About the Lab

WCTM has taken a new dimension by adding “ABB Robotics Arm - AI Robotics Centre of Excellence” in their academic institution. In a Swedish- Swiss collaboration WCTM established a cell with ABB Robot with a high payload capacity and different industrial applications like Arc Welding, Material Handling, Machine Tending, Cleaning/Spraying, Dispensing, and Packing. Experts from ABB multinational corporation are training the engineering students in the field of Robotics automation and Artificial intelligence. In order to provide cutting edge skills to students to achieve current market needs and prepare them for their career in industries the institution work in close collaboration with ABB and has come up with a world class technology for its students in the field like Robotics and Artificial Intelligence.

It provides a wide area platform for the students to understand the fundamental and advanced concepts of robotics and explore the world of industrial robotics with the hands-on experience using ABB IRB 2600-20/1.65, 6-axis robot arm. 

Objective 

The main objective of this Centre of Excellence (CoE) is to making students as competent as experts working in industries by providing understanding of industrial robotic systems through its practical orientation towards robots programming, real time control and practical understanding of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence with a technology-enriched platform. 

Key Features

•  The centre is equipped with standard training cell comprising of ABB IRB 2600-20/1.65, 6-axis robot arm with required auxiliary equipment’s.
•  This training cell is capable of performing multitude of operations used by the automobile, and other manufacturing/Production industries.
•  Robotic centre provides realistic, theoretical and practical training on ABB robots.
•  This highly equipped robotics centre will be the milestone in the field of technical education. 

Outcomes

• Ability to independently carry out research /investigation and development work to solve practical problems in the field of Robotics & Artificial Intelligence. 
• Develop capacity to understand multidisciplinary engineering areas and display skills for Robotic system design, Artificial Intelligence programming tools, Control systems and Machine learning. 
• Technical knowledge with skills in Artificial Intelligence & Robotics area to enable and empower to solve problems of Industry 4.0.
